Asian markets trade mostly lower in early deals on Thursday, saddled by the risk aversion in the market as the hotter than expected US inflation data dulled prospects of June interest rate trims. Stronger crude oil rates and surge in treasury yields also pressured equity investments. Hang Seng retreated from prior session’s 4 week high after Chinese producer prices fell the most in four months, and inflation number came in slower than expected. Japan’s Nikkei extended last session’s loss mirroring negative Wall Street overnight and on pick up in local currency yen. Stock markets of Indonesia and Malaysia are closed for Id-Ul-Fitr (Ramadan Eid).

Nikkei 225 down by 133.88 points 0.34% to 39,447.93, Straits Times dipped 10.84 points 0.33% to 3,226.68, Hang Seng declined by 129.68 points 0.76% to 17,009.49, and Taiwan Weighted diminished 52.84 points or 0.25% to 20,713.23.

On the flip side, KOSPI Index up 4.55 points or 0.17% to 2,709.71, and Shanghai Composite rose by 13.68 points or 0.45% to 3,041.01.
