Jethmalani had earlier asked the BJP's top leadership in Parliament to take a call on his suspension. Jethmalani, who had also written a letter to Rajnath Singh, was suspended from the party for his attack on Nitin Gadkari earlier in 2012. Earlier, the Rajya Sabha MP Jethmalani had been criticizing the party’s stand on corruption and other issues. However, Jethmalani will continue as an independent Rajya Sabha MP for the time being.
