Sun TV Network trades with traction on the bourses

Sun TV Network is currently trading at Rs. 424.30, up by 13.20 points or 3.21% from its previous closing of Rs. 411.10 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 409.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 428.65 and Rs. 409.00 respectively. So far 135411 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 5 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 493.90 on 04-Feb-2013 and a 52 week low of Rs. 176.75 on 27-Jul-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 428.65 and Rs. 398.75 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 16594.90 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 77.00% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 15.93% and 7.07% respectively.

Sun TV Network’s promoter Kalanithi Maran is all set to sell 7,881,700 equity shares in the company, of Rs 5 each, representing 2 per cent of the equity share capital of the company through the Offer for Sale (OFS) through Stock Exchange Mechanism to comply with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) norms on minimum public share holding requirements.

According to the mandate from the market regulator, the listed private companies should have a minimum of 25% public share holding.

As of March 31, 2013, Kalanithi Maran holds 30,34,45,157 equity shares, which is 77%  of the total equity share in the company.

The company has selected Axis Capital, India Infoline and UBS Securities India as the brokers on behalf of the seller and the seller shall declare the floor price for the sale on May 28, 2013, after closure of trading hours of the Stock Exchanges.
