Siemens gets nod for expansion of gas insulated switchgear factory, metro train manufacturing facility

Siemens has received approval for an investment of around Rs 519 crore towards capacity addition at Gas Insulated Switchgear Factory, Goa and Metro train manufacturing facility, Aurangabad. The investment required towards capacity addition at Gas Insulated Switchgear Factory, Goa is Rs 333 crore, while for Metro train manufacturing facility is around Rs 186 crore.

The expansion of gas-insulated switchgear factory is planned in phases over three years starting 2024-25 and will be funded through the internal accruals of the company. Metro train manufacturing facility will be setup by 2028 in a phased manner.
