BPCL’s Numaligarh oil refinery in Assam closed after fire breaks out

Fire broke out at Bharat Petroleum Corp (BPCL)-run Numaligarh oil refinery in Assam, which caused temporary shutdown on May 301, 2013; however the fire was brought quickly under control. Only one crude unit at the refinery which, along with other downstream units has been shut but the gasoline unit which is separate from the main plant is still functioning.

The company has reported a rise of 21.06% in its net profit at Rs 4797.29 crore in Q4FY13 as compared to net profit of Rs 3962.83 crore in the same quarter previous year. Total income from operation of the company has increased by 2.54% to Rs 66310.72 crore as compared to Rs 64668.90 crore in corresponding quarter last year.
