Bharti Airtel to offload minority stakes in landline, enterprise businesses

In a bid to cut its debt, Bharti Airtel, India’s largest mobile phone company by subscriber numbers and revenues is planning to offload its minority stakes in its landline and enterprise businesses.

Initially, the company will sell stake in the fixed line business, while stake sale in the enterprise unit will be much later, maybe after 12-18 months. At present, the company is in talks with several private equity funds to sell up to 25% in its DTH venture for about $250 million.
