Asian markets trade lower in early deals on Tuesday

Asian markets were trading in red in early deals on Tuesday amid lingering uncertainty about the outlook for interest rates, with some US Fed officials warning the central bank may still need to raise rates if inflation persists. Traders also seemed reluctant to make more significant bets ahead of the release of the minutes of the latest Fed meeting. Meanwhile, a private report said while the likelihood interest rates will be lower by September remains high, the chances have fallen to 76.3 percent from close to 90 percent last week. 

Asian markets were trading lower; Hang Seng declined 401.89 points or 2.09% to 19,234.33, Jakarta Composite plunged 39.4 points or 0.55% to 7,227.29, Shanghai Composite weakened 13.12 points or 0.42% to 3,158.03, Straits Times fell 12.59 points or 0.38% to 3,301.46, KOSPI dropped 16.87 points or 0.62% to 2,725.27, Nikkei 225 slipped 44.69 points or 0.11% to 39,024.99 and Taiwan Weighted lost 49.77 points or 0.23% to 21,221.86.
