India's overall oilmeal exports falls 6% in April 2024

The Solvent Extractors' Association of India in its latest report said that India's overall oilmeal exports during April 2024 stood at 465,156 tonnes as compared to 493,448 tonnes in April 2023 i.e. marginally down by 6%. Of the total, exports of soybean meal were at 199,803 tonnes, Rapeseed meal at 230,810 tonnes, Groundnut meal at 156 tonnes, Castor Seed meal at 34,387 tonnes.

The total oilmeal exports during November-April, the first six months of the marketing year, came down by 2.44% to 2,784,542 tonnes from 2,854,237 tonnes in the corresponding period of last year. Of the total, rapeseed meal exports were down by 23% so far this season at 930,309 tons. Groundnut meal and Castor Seed fell to 1843 tonnes and 193,450 tonnes, respectively. However, the report indicated the revival of soybean meal exports which jumped from 1,038,145 tonnes to 1,656,939 tonnes. While 

During April 2024, South Korea imported 109,744 tons of oilmeals (compared to 86,231 tons last April); consisting of 90,238 tons of rapeseed meal, 15,970 tons of castorseed meal and 3,537 tons of soybean meal. Vietnam imported 18,365 tons of oilmeals (compared to 100,860 tons); Thailand imported 40,582 tons of oilmeals (compared to 68,519 tons); Bangladesh sourced rapeseed meal and soybean meal from India at 82,878 tons (compared to 107,408 tons). Iran has turned out to be largest importer of Soybean meal from India (including shipment via Dubai) at 81,240 tons.
