Wheat Procurement Crosses 250 Lakh Tonnes

The government agencies have procured more than 250 lakh tonnes (LT) of wheat during the ongoing Rabi Marketing Season. The total wheat procured during the season in various states stood at 250,04,369 tonnes, as per data available from the fields till May 31.

Punjab has led the procurement with 108,69,520 tonnes followed by Madhya Pradesh with 63,46,120 tonnes and Haryana 58,72,945 tonnes. Rajasthan and UP also made significant procurement during the season with 12,27,627 tonnes and 6,74,625 tonnes respectively.
