Visaka Industries has received its board approval for setting up a 2.50 Mega Watt solar Power plant at the Company's Miryalaguda plant at a cost of Rs 21.50 crores for captive consumption. The project is expected to commence operations from September 01, 2013. The project is being implemented through Solon India who are the EPC contractors. The board at its meeting held on May 20, 2013 has approved for the same.
Visaka Industries is engaged into the manufacturing of Asbestos fibre cement sheets (ACS), non-asbestos boards & panels and man-made fibre yarns. It is the second largest player in the manufacturing of asbestos cement sheets in India with installed capacity of 752,000 Metric Tonnes Per Annum (MTPA).
