Coal India rises on reporting production of 34.55 million tonnes in May 2013

Coal India is currently trading at Rs. 327.60, up by 2.65 points or 0.82% from its previous closing of Rs. 324.95 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 323.50 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 330.65 and Rs. 323.35 respectively. So far 72196 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 386.00 on 17-Sep-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs. 291.20 on 19-Mar-2013.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 330.65 and Rs. 312.55 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 207903.13 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 90.00% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 7.44% and 2.56% respectively.

Coal India, the world’s largest coal miner by output has reported production of 34.55 million tonnes in May 2013 as against target of 36.50 million tonnes. Meanwhile, the company’s total off-take for the month of May stood at 38.27 million tonnes as against a target of 40.92 million tonnes.

The company, on consolidated basis, reported 34.90% jump in its net profit after taxes, minority interest and share of associates at Rs 5413.91 crore in Q4FY13 as compared to net profit of Rs 4013.41 crore in the same quarter previous year. Total income from operation of the company increased 1.78% to Rs 22111.07 crore as compared to Rs 21724.99 crore in corresponding quarter last year.
