Physical rubber prices were firm on Tuesday. Prices improved mainly on supply concerns though the reports from the futures markets were not so impressive.
Spot prices for RSS-4 variety improved to Rs 170/ kg compared to its previous closing of Rs 169/ kg, while RSS-5 variety closed at Rs 166/ kg compared to its previous closing of Rs 165/ kg.
In the futures market, contract of June delivery inched up to Rs 169.87 compared to its previous closing of Rs 169.45, while July delivery closed at Rs 167.07 compared to its previous closing of Rs 167.39 on the National Multi Commodity Exchange (NMCE).
