Just in: Retail inflation slows to 4.75% in May vs 4.83% in April

The country’s retail inflation, measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), decreased to 4.75 per cent in the month of May 2024 as compared to 4.83 per cent in April 2024. Rural inflation stood at 5.28 per cent while urban inflation stood at 4.15 per cent in May 2024. The consumer food price index (CFPI) decreased to 8.69 per cent in May from 8.70 per cent in April.
