Idea Cellular gains on inking multi-year contract with Syniverse Technologies

Idea Cellular is currently trading at Rs. 129.70, up by 1.05 points or 0.82% from its previous closing of Rs. 128.65 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 128.90 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 129.80 and Rs. 124.40 respectively. So far 91321 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 138.20 on 28-May-2013 and a 52 week low of Rs. 72.05 on 09-Aug-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 138.10 and Rs. 127.50 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 42336.10 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 45.88% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 22.06% and 32.06% respectively.

Idea Cellular has inked a multi-year contract with Syniverse Technologies, providers of MNP services to Indian mobile phone operators in the North and West zones, to tabulate voice and data records when Idea’s customers travel overseas. Syniverse will offer solutions for data clearing, financial clearing and fraud prevention.

The move will reduce bill shock for the telco’s customers and allow for faster clearances of bills. The company will process tens of millions of records each month. The billing on these deals is typically based on the number of records processed.

Idea Cellular, an AV Birla group company, provides Global System for Mobile communications (GSM)-based wireless service at the pan-India level; it is present in all 22 telecom circles.
