Idea Cellular surges on getting nod for merger of Idea Cellular Towers with Indus Towers

Idea Cellular is currently trading at Rs. 135.80, up by 0.70 points or 0.52% from its previous closing of Rs. 135.10 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 135.15 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 137.10 and Rs. 135.15 respectively. So far 73,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 138.20 on 28-May-2013 and a 52 week low of Rs. 72.05 on 09-Aug-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 136.80 and Rs. 124.40 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 45,021 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 45.88% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 22.06% and 32.06% respectively. 

Idea Cellular has received an approval for merger of Idea Cellular Towers Infrastructure, a wholly owned subsidiary of the company with Indus Towers. The said merger has become effective from June 11, 2013. The company has received approval from High Court of Delhi vide its order dated April 18, 2013 for the same.

Idea Cellular, an AV Birla group company, provides Global System for Mobile communications (GSM)-based wireless service at the pan-India level; it is present in all 22 telecom circles.
