JSW Steel’s crude steel production jumps by 40% during May 2013

JSW Steel has reported monthly crude steel production for the month of May 2013 of its three manufacturing locations - Vijayanagar, Salem and Dolvi together. The crude steel production has seen growth of 40% during May 2013 at 10.13 lakh tonnes as against 7.24 lakh tonnes produced in the corresponding period of the previous year.

The production of rolled products (flat) increased by 57% to 8.06 lakh tonnes compared to 5.12 lakh tonnes in May last year. Meanwhile, the production of rolled products (long) during the month rose by 13% at 1.68 lakh tonnes as compared to 1.49 lakh tonnes in May, 2012.

JSW Steel is part of the JSW group which, in turn, is a part of the O P Jindal group. JSW Steel is one of the largest steel manufacturing companies in India having units in Karnataka and Maharashtra producing crude steel, long steel and flat steel products.
