Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar seems to be warming up to the Congress. Hours after Prime Minister Manmohan Singh called Nitish a secular leader, the Bihar Chief Minister thanked him saying, 'What the PM has said is right. I thank him for that. There is no hidden message in that.' Manmohan Singh reached out to the Janata Dal United leader on Monday saying he is a secular leader.

Manmohan Singh said that in politics there are no permanent friends or enemies and may decide as situation evolves whether to join hands or not. Further he added that they have always sought the support from right thinking parties. He also asserted confidence that the UPA will come back to power after the Lok Sabha elections in 2014.

The new Congress media wing chief Ajay Maken earlier said that the party is growing under Rahul Gandhi while the NDA is shrinking with the JD(U) walking out of the alliance in Bihar and he joined that the Congress was always open to allying with secular parties.
