Idea Cellular has reportedly reduced 2G data tariff by up to 90% in all the circles it currently operates. The company has reduced the price from 2 paisa per 1 KB to 2 paisa per 10KB. This new rate cut will make Internet access affordable for customers who use mobile Internet in a limited way. The new rates will be available from July 1, 2013 for 90 days. The company had reported 21.57 million data users till March 31, 2013 out of this 4.1 million are 3G customers.
Idea Cellular, an AV Birla group company, provides Global System for Mobile communications (GSM)-based wireless service at the pan-India level; it is present in all 22 telecom circles.
