MTNL loses 1 lakh mobile subscribers in May in Mumbai

Mahanagar Telephone Nigam (MTNL), the state owned telecom firm which operates in Delhi and Mumbai, has lost about 1 lakh mobile subscribers in May, 2013 in Mumbai, while it added a paltry 3,748 subscribers in Delhi.

Earlier, the company lost 100,127 mobile subscribers in April, 2013 and the total subscriber count was stood at 4.72 million with a market share of 0.71%.

MTNL was set up by the Government of India to upgrade the quality of telecom services, expand the telecom network, and introduce new services and to raise revenue for telecom development needs of India's key metros -- Delhi and Mumbai.
