Oil and Natural Gas Corporation’s (ONGC) wholly owned subsidiary -- ONGC Videsh (OVL) has secured a 16-year contract extension for producing oil and gas in Vietnam, alongside getting three more years to explore a separate block in the contested waters of the South China Sea. Vietnamese authorities have extended the production sharing contract (PSC) for the producing Block 06.1 in the offshore Nam Con Son basin till 2039. They have also granted an eighth extension for exploring for oil and gas in Block 128 in the South China Sea.
Sequent Scientific has received prequalification (PQ) approval from the World Health Organization (WHO) for Albendazole, Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API). This is in partnership with Mepro Pharmaceuticals, who have successfully developed and commercialised the Albendazole Chewable formulation from its WHO PQ approved plant, using its API. Mepro’s Chewable formulation is the first global approval of its kind by the WHO PQ.

DCM Shriram has commissioned its state-of the-art Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2) plant of 52,500 TPA at its Chemical complex in Jhagadia, Bharuch, Gujarat on August 19, 2024. H2O2 will add to its chemicals business product porfolio and is a downstream to Hydrogen produced at the Chemicals complex. Hydrogen Peroxide has wide ranging applications from bleaching agent to water and waste water treatment, chemical synthesis, food processing, mining and metallurgy and environmental applications.
