Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati was unanimously re-elected as National President of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) for the fifth Consecutive term.

This comes a day after Mayawati announced that she would not retirement from politics. She had said that she was not retiring from active politics and alleged that the ‘casteist media’ had been ‘propagating such fake news’. During the special meeting of the BSP Central Executive Committee (CEC), senior national-level office bearers and state party units and representatives selected from all over the country took the decision to elect Mayawati unanimously.

Mayawati assured party followers that she is ready to make any sacrifice to advance the humanitarian mission of ‘great people’, particularly those born in Dalit, Adivasi and OBC communities, through the BSP movement. BSP founder Kanshi Ram had declared her as his political successor more than two decades ago.
