Dewan Housing Finance trades with traction on talks to by DLF Pramerica

Dewan Housing Finance Corporation is currently trading at Rs. 161.95, up by 1.90 points or 1.19% from its previous closing of Rs. 160.05 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 163.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 164.80 and Rs. 161.40 respectively. So far 937 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 224.90 on 15-Jan-2013 and a 52 week low of Rs. 142.25 on 27-Jul-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 176.00 and Rs. 157.40 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 2084.66 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 38.07%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 39.38% and 22.55% respectively.

Dewan Housing Finance (DNFL), the third largest housing finance firm in India, is reportedly in talks to buy majority stake in DLF Pramerica Life Insurance Company, a joint venture with US-based Prudential Financial. Meanwhile, DLF is likely to exit the insurance company at a marginal premium over the Rs 235 crore it had invested for a 74% stake in JV with Prudential Financial.

DHFL is among the oldest private sector Housing Finance Companies (HFC) in India. It is the third-largest housing finance firm.
