Coal India reports 12% fall in coal production during August 2024

Coal India has reported 11.9% fall in coal production to 46.1 million tonnes (MT) (Provisional) during August 2024 as compared to 52.3 MT (Provisional) in August 2023. It produced 290.4 MT (Provisional) of coal during April- August period, up 3.2% from 281.5 MT (Provisional) during the same period previous year. 

In August 2024, Coal offtake decreased to 52.1 MT (Provisional) from 59.1 MT (Provisional) in August 2023. The total offtake of coal during the April- August period increased to 310.0 MT (Provisional), up 1.4% from 305.6 MT (Provisional) in the corresponding period last fiscal.
