The country’s retail inflation, measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), increased to 3.65 per cent in the month of August 2024 as compared to 3.54 per cent in July 2024. Rural inflation stood at 4.16 per cent while urban inflation stood at 3.14 per cent in August 2024. The consumer food price index (CFPI) increased to 5.66 per cent in August from 5.42 per cent in July 2024.
