Copper futures settled higher on Wednesday on improved demand with expectations that more support from Chinese government is on its way. However, some gains were limited by firm American currency against its peers on signs that the US might slow its easing and as investors fretted about the widening of conflict in the Middle East.
Copper futures for December delivery gained $0.06 to settle at $4.6490 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper on the London Metal Exchange was up by 1.06 percent at $10,084.50 a ton.
