Lupin has received approval for Oral Contraceptive Yasmin. The company is close to launch Yasmin in US markets. Yasmin was the first oral contraceptive that used drospirenone and Yaz, the best-selling oral contraceptive in the US, also contains drospirenone.
The company will launch around 20 products in next year. Further, the company is expecting to increase margin by 75-100 bps over next three years.
Lupin is the 5th largest and fastest growing generics player in the US (5.1% market share by prescriptions, IMS Health) and the 3rd largest Indian pharmaceutical company by sales. The company is also the fastest growing top 10 generic pharmaceutical players in Japan and South Africa (IMS).
