Copper futures trade down on Monday

14 Oct 2024 Evaluate

Copper futures were trading down on Monday as the American currency extended its gains with reducing expectations on further jumbo rate cuts by the US Federal Reserve at its remaining meetings this year. Copper prices weakened further on uncertainty surrounding the world’s top metal consumer China's economic stimulus plans.

Copper futures for December delivery lost by $0.0270 or 0.6% at $4.4665 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange.
