Congress brings no-confidence motion against BJP Govt in MP

The Madhya Pradesh Assembly today admitted the notice of no-confidence motion for discussion. The motion was moved by the Leader of Opposition, Ajay Singh by stating “this House expresses no-confidence in the Council of Ministers headed by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan' following which Speaker Ishwardas Rohani admitted it for discussion.

This is the second no-confidence motion and will begin from 11th July. The earlier motion, which was defeated on the floor of the House after an intense debate, was also moved by Mr. Singh in November 2011. A total of 231 seats are there in State Assembly; out of which BJP has 151 members, Congress 65, BSP 07, Independent 03, Samajwadi Party 01 and nominated 01. Currently two seats, Keolari in Seoni district and Neemuch are vacant.
