Govt to start two universities in Rae Bareli

Ahead of the national elections 2014, Congress president Sonia Gandhi's Rae Bareli constituency in Uttar Pradesh got a big boost as the government today cleared two universities there, including India's first all-women university. The cabinet cleared the setting up of the Indira Gandhi Women's National University at a cost of Rs. 500 crore. The bill to set up the same will be come in the monsoon session of Parliament.

Further the other, the aviation academy in Rae Bareli will also be turned into a full-fledged university. The Indira Gandhi aviation academy, which is to be renamed as Rajiv Gandhi National Aviation University.
