Just In: June inflation picks up to 4.86%; April WPI revised downwards to 4.77%

Deviating from three consecutive months’ easing trend, India's main inflation gauge, based on monthly WPI, surprisingly shot up to 4.86% for the month of June, as compared to 4.70% (Provisional) for the previous month of April, however, the rate of uptick was lower than expected, while in a positive surprise, April inflation figures were revised downwards to 4.77% from 4.89% earlier.
