JSW Steel’s crude steel production jumps 34% in Q1FY14

JSW Steel has reported monthly crude steel production for Q1FY14 of its three manufacturing locations - Vijayanagar, Salem and Dolvi together. The crude steel production has seen growth of 34% during Q1FY14 2013 at 2.86 million tonnes as against 2.14 million tonnes produced in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

The production of rolled products (flat) increased by 39% to 2.23 million tonnes compared to 1.61 million tonnes first quarter of the previous year. Meanwhile, the production of rolled products (long) during the quarter rose by 4% at 0.45 million tonnes as compared to 0.44 million tonnes in Q1FY13.

JSW Steel is part of the JSW group which, in turn, is a part of the O P Jindal group. JSW Steel is one of the largest steel manufacturing companies in India having units in Karnataka and Maharashtra producing crude steel, long steel and flat steel products.
