Bharti Airtel, a leading global telecommunications company with operations in 20 countries across Asia and Africa has decided to introduce an international fibre-optic cable link in order to increase its internet speeds in Bangladesh. It is also likely to pitch for 3G airwaves that will be auctioned by the neighboring country in early-September.
Company’s wholly-owned Bangladesh arm, is likely to take the 3G route to boost the company's under 8% market penetration in a country that is home to some 103 million mobile customers.
