Birla Corporation, the flagship company of M P Birla Group, in order to increase cement production capacity, is planning to set up new cement unit with a capacity of 2 million tonnes per year in Madhya Pradesh. In this regard, the company will invest Rs 2,500 crore in the unit over a period of three years. At present, the total cement production capacity of the company is stood at 9.3 MT.
Birla Corporation operates four division cement, jute, vinoleum and auto trim. It has eight manufacturing facilities located in Pune, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Gurgoan, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.
