GE Shipping strengthens on signing contract to buy very large gas carrier

Great Eastern Shipping Company (GE Shipping) is currently trading at Rs. 215.10, up by 1.20 points or 0.56 % from its previous closing of Rs. 213.90 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 219.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 220.00 and Rs. 213.00 respectively. So far 1824 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 291.50 on 19-Dec-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs. 199.25 on 24-Jun-2013.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 220.00  and Rs. 208.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 3282.54 crore.

Great Eastern Shipping Company (GE Shipping) has signed contract to buy a very large gas carrier (VLGC) of about 49,900 dwt (73,800 cbm). The 1994 built vessel is expected to join the company’s fleet during H1FY2015.

The company’s current fleet stands at 28 vessels, comprising 20 tankers ( 8 crude carriers, 11 product carriers, 1LPG carrier) and 8 dry bulk carriers (1capesize, 3Kamsarmax, 4 Supramax) with an average age of 9 years aggregating 2.32 mn dwt.
