Suzlon Energy has informed that Office of the Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax, Ahmedabad has levied a penalty upon the Company in relation to disallowance on account of late payment of the employee’s contribution to provident fund / ESI during the FY 2016-17, the details of which are as per the enclosed Annexure. The Company is in the process of challenging subject penalty order before the appellate / judicial forums and is confident of defending the penalty order in view of the facts and merits of the case.
