Coal India surges on executing MoU with IREL (India)

Coal India is currently trading at Rs. 379.95, up by 1.20 points or 0.32% from its previous closing of Rs. 378.75 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 380.30 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 384.20 and Rs. 377.65 respectively. So far 179245 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 544.70 on 26-Aug-2024 and a 52 week low of Rs. 368.00 on 18-Jan-2024.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 399.20 and Rs. 377.30 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 234091.24 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 63.13%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 31.83% and 5.03% respectively.

Coal India (CIL) and IREL (India), a public sector undertaking under the Department of Atomic Energy, GoI, have executed a Non-Binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on January 6, 2025 to cooperate and collaborate for development (mining/ extraction/ refining etc.) of mutually agreed assets of critical mineral in general including mineral sands/ REE by acquiring assets /sourcing raw material domestically or internationally.

Coal India is the world’s largest coal mining company. It also produces non-coking coal and coking coal of various grades for diverse applications.
