Asian markets traded in red in early deals on Monday, on woes over potential cautiousness in Fed interest rate cuts after stronger than expected US employment data. Investor sentiments dulled with China’s slowing economic activity and its persistent deflationary pressures. Hang Seng tumbled the most among Asian indices, marking its lowest level in nearly four months. Stock market of Japan is closed for Respect for the Aged Day.

Hang Seng tumbled by 256.61 points 1.36% to 18,807.68, Straits Times down by 22.05 points 0.58% to 3 3,779.51, Taiwan Weighted slipped by 526.59 points or 2.29% to 22,485.27, KOSPI Index decreased by 26.01 points or 1.03% to 2,489.77, Shanghai Composite shrunk by 14.15 points or 0.45% to 3,154.37, Jakarta Composite diminished by 31.60 points or 0.45% to 7,057.27, and FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI narrowed by 19.20 points or 1.20% to 1,583.21.
