Areva T&D bags order worth Rs 200 crore from Power Grid

Areva T&D India’s transmission business, now part of Alstom Grid, has bagged orders worth Rs 200 crore from Power Grid Corporation on India (PGCIL) for supply, erection and commissioning of a 765kv extra high voltage substation including transformer at Bareily in Uttar Pradesh.

The 765kv transformer for this substation will be delivered from the company’s world class factory located at Vadodara which was set up in India to meet the future needs of the country as transmission voltage levels move to extra of ultra high voltage levels (up to 1200 kv). All other world class 765 products for the substation will be delivered from Areva T&D India’s manufacturing facilities located at Padappai (Chennai), Pallavaram (Chennai), Hosur (Tamilnadu) and Noida.

The company has been awarded 16 out of 39 contracts for 765KV substation in the country. This makes it the leading solution provider for extra high voltage transmission sector in the country.

Areva T&D India is a leading player in the Power Transmission and Distribution business upto Extra High Voltage levels (765 kV) and is prepared to meet the demands for equipments and services even at Ultra High Voltage levels (1200 kV).
