Tata Steel trades higher despite reporting 43% fall in Q3 consolidated net profit

Tata Steel is currently trading at Rs. 127.55, up by 1.15 points or 0.91% from its previous closing of Rs. 126.40 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 126.20 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 128.60 and Rs. 124.70 respectively. So far 898212 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 184.60 on 18-Jun-2024 and a 52 week low of Rs. 122.60 on 13-Jan-2025.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 133.15 and Rs. 125.80 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 159101.65 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 33.19%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 42.23% and 24.06% respectively.

Tata Steel has reported 17.45% fall in its net profit at Rs 3878.57 crore for third quarter ended December 31, 2024 as compared to Rs 4698.54 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the company declined by 5.13% at Rs 33216.47 crore for Q3FY25 as compared to Rs 35011.42 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.

On consolidated basis, the company has reported 43.41% fall in its net profit at Rs 295.49 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2024, as compared to Rs 522.14 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the company decreased marginally by 3.01% at Rs 53869.33 crore for Q3FY25 as compared to Rs 55539.77 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.
