Usha Martin has bagged a contract to manufacture 3 lakh tonnes a year of special auto-grade items for Toyota Group of Japan. The company will make the same at its Jamshedpur steel-making facility and the company is expected to start manufacturing of these parts in 2015-16. These steel items are used to make automotive components such as crankshafts, pinions and steering rods.
Further, Usha Martin expects to commission its second-phase iron ore beneficiation plant, a pellet unit, coke oven and 35 MW captive power unit by October.
Usha Martin is a major manufacturer of wire rods, bright bars, steel wires, speciality wires, wire ropes, strand, conveyor cord, wire drawing and cable machinery.
