AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal launched AAP's 'Bachat Patra' campaign, claiming that his government's initiatives save every Delhi family Rs 25,000 per month, with new schemes adding another Rs 10,000.
During the launching ceremony of campaign, Kejriwal highlighted the financial benefits of the schemes brought by his party's government. He said, ‘Our volunteers will go door-to-door, sit with families, and calculate how much they save through AAP's schemes’. He said that every household in Delhi saves Rs 25,000 per month and if people bring the party back to power by pressing the button against the 'jhadhu' (broom - AAP's election symbol), then its new schemes will add another Rs 10,000 to this. Key schemes in AAP's manifesto, including free bus travel for students, the Mahila Samman Yojana, and the Sanjeevani Yojana, are expected to contribute to this increase.
With the Union Budget set to be presented on February 1, Kejriwal contrasted the AAP's policies with the BJP's approach. He claimed, ‘Budgets usually bring inflation and impact household finances. But in Delhi, our government ensures savings for every family. On the other hand, the BJP has repeatedly said it will discontinue these benefits if it comes to power’. Citing the transfer of Dharavi land in Mumbai to private developers, Kejriwal alleged that the BJP diverts public funds to corporate allies.
On water quality issues in Delhi, AAP chief credited public pressure for reducing ammonia levels from 7 PPM to 2.1 PPM, calling it a victory against a conspiracy to defame AAP's governance. Delhi goes to polls on February 5 and the results will be announced on February 8.
