V-Mart Retail reports 36% rise in Q1 net profit

V-Mart Retail has reported results for the first quarter ended June 30, 2013. 

The Company has reported 36.19% rise in its net profit at Rs 7.15 crore for the quarter as compared to Rs 5.25 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income from operations of the company increased by 32.76% at Rs 118.30 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 89.11 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2012.

V-Mart Retail is one of the pioneers in setting up stores across various small Indian towns and cities including Sultanpur, Ujjain, Motihari. The company primarily operates in Tier-II and Tier-III cities, with a chain of ‘value retail’ departmental stores offering apparels, general merchandise and kirana, catering to the entire family. Based in New Delhi, the company operations are spread across northern, western and eastern parts of India.
