Sanofi India has signed an agreement with India's largest wind turbine manufacturer, Suzlon Energy (SEL), for a 2.1 MW (megawatt) offsite windmill installation, to generate renewable power for captive consumption at its Ankleshwar manufacturing site.
The manufacturing site at Ankieshwar - one of Sanofi's three GIMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) compliant state-of-the-art manufacturing sites in India - produces solid dose formulations and Active Pharma Ingredients (API). Between its two facilities at Goa and Ankleshwar, Sanofi has the capacity to manufacture 8.5 billion tablets annually.
