06 Aug 2013 Evaluate

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Shiv Sena demanded a strong reaction from the government for the killing of five Indian soldiers by Pakistani troops and terrorists along the Line of Control in Poonch sector of Jammu and Kashmir. They slashed the government saying that instead of taking a strong stand, they are making peace proposals and the government must give a proper, justified explanation.

Leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party and a former Cabinet Minister Syed Shahnawaz Hussain and his colleague Ravi Shankar Prasad criticized the government's attitude and the limit of tolerence on part of the government towards the sacrifices of Indian soldiers. Minister of State for Home RPN Singh said the incident would definitely have an effect on Indo-Pak relations

National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah asked Pakistan to put an end to attacks saying that, if Pakistan really wanted friendly ties, then they must stop such activities, otherwise there will be a time when Indian soldiers might not be able to show restraint.
