Soyameal exports drop by 36% in July

As per the report compiled by Soyabean Processors Association of India (SOPA), the exports of soyameal from the country stood at 1.07 lakh tones (LT) in the month of July which is lower by 36% to the shipments of 1.68 LT in the same month last year, due to Indian soyameal prices were in disparity with the international market.

Meanwhile, the country’s export of soyameal which is used as animal feeds, during April 2013 to July 2013 stood at 5.18 LT as compared to 8.24 LT in the same period of previous year showing a fall of 31.10%. Further, in the first ten months of the current oil year (October-September) period, soyameal exports fell by 14% to 31.15 LT compared with 36.10 LT in the same period of previous year.
