Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh Friday hit out at Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi over his criticism of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's Independence Day speech, saying that his abrasive hunger for power has no limits. He further said that Modi and Advani are on the same page.

Chief Minister of Gujarat Narendra Modi had found fault with the prime minister's Independence Day speech on Thursday and sought a debate on development and good governance between the union and Gujarat government

Senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), veteran L.K. Advani while unfurling the national flag at his residence, expressed his disagreement with Modi and said that it was Independence Day and that people should be aware on this day that India has unlimited possibilities and celebrate it without criticizing one another. Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut had said there are 364 other days in the year to comment on the Prime Minister and leaders should try to avoid politics on the occasion of Independence Day.
