Lemon Tree Hotels, Bharat Electronics and CESC to see some action today

Lemon Tree Hotels has signed a new property--Keys Prima by Lemon Tree Hotels, Darjeeling. The properties shall be managed by Carnation Hotels, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lemon Tree Hotels and will start operations in FY26. The property will feature 65 well-appointed rooms, a restaurant, a meeting room, recreation facilites and other public areas. Bagdogra Airport, the nearest airport, is approximately 70 kms from the property.

Bharat Electronics (BEL) has signed a contract with Ministry of Defence valued at Rs 2,210 crore (excluding taxes) for supply of EW Suite for Mi 17 V5 Helicopters of Indian Air Force. These systems are indigenously designed and developed by CASDIC, DRDO and manufactured by BEL. The EW Suite comprises Radar Warning Receiver (RWR), Missile Approach Warning System (MAWS) and Counter Measure Dispensing System (CMDS) which significantly enhance the combat survivability of the helicopters along with effective counter measures.

CESC has received approval for the issuance of 25,000 secured, unlisted, redeemable, rated non-convertible debentures (NCDs) having a face value of Rs 1 lakh each for cash at par aggregating to Rs 250 crore, on a private placement basis. The deemed date of allotment of NCDs is April 11, 2025. A Committee of the Board of Directors of the company at its meeting held on April 7, 2025, has approved the same.

Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) has commenced operations at the Colombo West International Terminal (CWIT), located at the Port of Colombo. Developed under a landmark public-private partnership, CWIT is operated by a consortium comprising India’s largest port operator APSEZ, leading Sri Lankan conglomerate John Keells Holdings PLC, and the Sri Lanka Ports Authority, under a 35-year Build, Operate, and Transfer (BOT) agreement.
