Uttam Galva Steels, country’s second largest galvanized steel manufacturer, has requested the Government to surrender its two special economic zones (SEZs) in Maharashtra. In the meeting on August 30, its request will be considered by the 19-member Board of Approval chaired by Commerce Secretary S.R. Rao. The company had planned two sector specific SEZs for IT/ITES in Raigad, Maharashtra.
Uttam Galva Steels (UGSL) is engaged in the business of manufacturing Cold Rolling (CR) Coils, Cold Rolled Close Annealed (CRCA), Galvanized Plain Products (GP) and Galvanized Corrugated Products (GC). Company has emerged as one of the largest manufacturers of cold rolled steel ('CR') and galvanized steel (GP) in Western India.
