Poonawalla Fincorp, NTPC and Tata Motors to see some action today

Poonawalla Fincorp has raised Rs 1525 crore through the allotment of 1,52,500 secured, redeemable, rated, listed, non-convertible debentures of the face value of Rs 1,00,000 each, through private placement. The Finance Committee vide resolution dated April 21, 2025, as authorized by the Board of Directors of the company has approved allotment of the same. 

Evren, a platform launched by Brookfield in India, has entered into a 300 MW power purchase agreement with state-owned power giant NTPC for supply of firm and dispatchable renewable energy. The power purchase agreement (PPA) entails development of close to 1 GW of renewable energy capacity including wind, solar and battery energy storage.

Tata Motors has inked a power purchase agreement with Tata Power Renewable Energy to co-develop a 131 MW wind-solar hybrid renewable energy project. Set to generate around 300 million units of clean electricity annually, the project is expected to offset over 2 lakh tons of CO2 emissions each year.

Coal India has entered into a pact with Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) for setting up a ultra supercritical power plant in Jharkhand with a total investment of Rs 16,500 crore. Ultra-supercritical power plants operate at higher steam temperatures and pressures than supercritical plants, leading to improved efficiency and reduced emissions.

Fischer Medical Ventures has received approval for investment in Equity shares of Nanomedic Technologies and Solutions. Objective of acquisition is for diversification and expansion of business. The company constantly explores various options for growing business and determined that this acquisition is in the best interest of the company. The Board of Directors of the company in their meeting held on April 21,2025 has considered and approved the same. 

Cosmo First has entered into definitive agreement for acquisition of a veterinary clinic under the name ‘Small Animal Clinic-Diagnostic Imaging and Surgical Center’, Mumbai as a going concern by way of a slump sale. The acquisition will accelerate the growth of Veterinary Services of the company’s Petcare division (Zigly). The acquisition is to be completed by May 15, 2025 or such other date as ay be mutually agreed. 

One 97 Communications’ (OCL) wholly-owned subsidiary-- Paytm Money has introduced new cost-effective interest rates and brokerage structure for its recently launched Pay Later (MTF - Margin Trading Facility) offering. With this, the platform hopes to drive affordability for both retail and high-value investors. The newly introduced slab-based interest rates, starting at 9.75% per annum (p.a.), down from the current flat 14.99% p.a., are based on funding book size.
