Physical rubber prices extended their decline for the second consecutive day on Wednesday mainly on buyer resistance as they stayed away on reports of tapping in full swing in the plantation area. Though, the arrivals remained weak despite the peak production season but that could not support the prices.
Spot prices for RSS-4 variety closed at Rs 188/kg compared to its previous closing of Rs 190/kg, while the RSS-5 variety closed at Rs 186/kg compared to its previous closing of Rs 187/kg.
In futures market, the contract of RSS 4 for December delivery increased to Rs 193.20 compared to its previous closing of Rs 186.53, while the contract for January delivery closed at Rs 194.98 compared to its previous closing of Rs 187.79 on the National Multi Commodity Exchange.
